Bulgarian Home Remedies For Anemia

  1. Mix 10 g of nettle leaves (Urtica Dioica) and 25 g of rowan berries (Sorbus Aucuparia). Pour 500 ml of boiling water over one tablespoon of the mixture and simmer for 10 minutes. Let steep for 4 hours and then strain. Drink 1/2 teacup, 4 times a day.
  2. Roots of melilot (Melilotus officinalis), chicory (Cichorium intybus) shoots and roots, pansy (Viola tricolor) shoots and juniper (Juniperus communis) berries are mixed well and 2 table spoonfuls of the mixture are put in 600 ml of hot water. Drink one wine glass of it three times a day before meals.In early spring and in September boil walnut leaves for 30 minutes and bathe with this water.
  3. Mead drink. It is prepared with five parts of water to one part of honey. Boil it for several hours on low heat and remove the foam all the time. Add cinnamon, vanilla and pepper to the boiling liquid. Put it in a glass bottle for 40 days in a dark place, and it is ready to drink.
  4. Put a heaped table spoonful of yarrow (Achillea millefolium) into a tea cup with hot water. Sip the tea after 30 seconds. Drink it 4 times a day.
  5. Fill a bottle of wormwood (Artemisia vulgaris), gathered only in May, and – pour vodka or diluted pure alcohol. Leave it for 31 days in a place, which is neither dark nor warm. Drop 1 drop of the infusion into a tea spoon and drink it every morning before breakfast. Drink it for 3 weeks. If you have a severe anemia, repeat the procedure after two weeks.
  6. Pour alcohol over 300 g of peeled garlic and put it in a jar. After 3 weeks the infusion is ready to drink. Put 20 drops in milk or water 3 times a day.
  7. Mix 200 g of lard, butter and honey. Melt them on the cooker and stir the mixture all the time. Drink 1 tea spoonful of it in hot milk or hot strong tea.
  8. In 500 g of wine put 20 g of a stalk of valerian (Valeriana officinalis) and boil it for about 10 minutes. Drink it for two days in the morning. You should drink this decoction for two months.
  9. Mix 700 g of red wine, 300 g of honey and 250 g of aloe (Aloe arborescens). The aloe is pounded in a wooden mortar and filtered through gauze. Put the mixture in a jar and keep it in the fridge. Shake it every day for a week. Take 1 table spoonful of it only in the morning for two days, then 1 table spoonful at noon and in the evening, and then 1 table spoonful in the morning, at noon and in the evening until you drink all the mixture.
  10. Put sixty stalks of red cilantro (Eritraea centaurum) in 1 l of red wine for 8 days. Drink a wine glass of it before meals.
  11. Mix 2 table spoonfuls of juice of carrots, beetroot and turnip each and drink it every day for two or three months.
  12. Drink freshly squeezed red fruits (apple, morello cherry, cherries, currant, bilberry, and red grapes)
